When the ANC throws a conference, it’s less about fixing the country and more like a family reunion where no one likes each other, but everyone’s fighting for control of the TV remote. The agenda? Who gets the best seat at the table, while the rest of us fight for scraps. If they put as much effort into governing as they do into these meetings, South Africa might actually get somewhere.
But alas, we’re left with a government as effective as a Sunday morning hangover cure. One day we’ll look back and laugh – if only to keep from crying.
